Any Northern Pine Pics ?

richh Aug 15, 2009 01:33 PM

Out of keeping herps for a while now. Nice to see there are some Black Pines still being worked with. Anyone working with Northern Pines? Care to post some pics? Northern and Black Pines have always been my favorite pits to work with. My favorite Northerns have been the lines originating out of NJ. But all pines make for impressive herps.

Here's a pic of my 09 female who is a sibling to Tim's holdbacks pictured above. She's growing pretty fast so I'll have to take some updated pics pretty soon.

Here is a 05 male I have. This was my favorite snake but sad to say I lost him during hibernation this past year.

I also have a pair of Northerns that are Ocean County stock. I will have to get some pics of them.

...that is one incredible pine! Must be tough losing one like that.

It was a tough loss for me. To this day I still think about it. Whenever I went into my snakeroom he always came up to the glass like he was saying hello. He was a great Pine.

Must be a sign. No sooner then I start this thread my modem releases an odor of spoiled eggs. I was considering adding some pines this year. Must be a sign of sorts to not get back into keeping herps

New modem just added.

Great pics of some nice northerns. I have always been a fan of high contrast black and white pines. Actually my personal favorite herp and phase of same. Apparently no shortage of them here. Good to know.

Curious though, anyone have the luck of coming across yellows or reds that are being bred? Although I have never kept any of these two color phases I did see a few come out of NJ stock captives in the 70's and 80's. The yellows especially stood out. Can not recall seeing any since or know of other locales where these phases may have or still exist in any numbers.
