I've had a few African scams via email come my way.
One said that there were no more heirs to the Lassiter estate and that he would make sure he could provide documentation that I was the sole heir to millions if I sent him a certain amount of money to get the ball rolling.....I checked it all out since I new there was a bad smell to it....
Certainly a scam.....Nigeria must be full of Scammers....LOL

This is a variation on a popular counterfeit check scam that is common on Craigslist. The buyer sends you a check or money order for far more than the purchase price of the item you're selling. You deposit the check in your account, keep the purchase amount, and write a check from your account for the rest of the funds (usually thousands) to his "shipping agent" in Texas.

By the time your bank tells you that his money order was counterfeit, they have already cashed your check, and you owe the bank thousands.

and the sad part is people fall for them all the time....

I've got a couple that smelled fishy. There is a funny website where the guy e-mails these scammers back and leads them on and on until THEY finally get frustrated by HIS demands. He gets them to do some pretty funny stuff along the way.

POSITIVE THOUGHTS, POSITIVE RESULTS

I got this one awhile back. Talk about some brazen scam, I wish I could track this scum bag down and put him out of humanities misery. Basically, pay or we have to kill you. Here it is including his name and email as it was sent to me and countless other “undisclosed recipients” no doubt. If this crap isn’t illegal, what is?

To undisclosed recipient,

SOMEONE YOU CALL YOUR FRIEND WANT YOU DEAD.

I felt very sorry and bad for you, that your life is going to end like this, I was paid to eliminate you and I have to do it within 10 days.

Someone you call your friend wants you dead by all means, and the person have spent a lot of money on this, the person came to us and told us that he wants you dead and he provided us your names and other necessary information we needed about you.

Meanwhile, I have sent my boys to track you down and they have carried out the necessary investigation needed for the operation, but I ordered them to stop for a while and not to strike immediately because I just felt something good and sympathetic about you. I decided to contact you first and know why somebody will want you dead by all means. Right now my men are monitoring you, their eyes are on you, and even the place you think is safer for you to hide might not be.

Now do you want to LIVE OR DIE? It is up to you. Get back to me now if you are ready to enter deal with me, I mean life trade, who knows, and I might just spear your life, $8,000 is all you need to spend. You will first of all pay $900 then I will send the tape of the person that want you dead to you and when the tape gets to you, you will pay the remaining $7100. If you are not ready for my help, then I will have no choice but to carry on the assignment after all I have already being paid before now.

Warning: do not think of contacting the police or even tell anyone because I will extend it to any member of your family since you are aware that somebody want you dead, and the person knows some members of your family as well.

For your own good I will advise you not to go out once is 8pm until I make out time to see you and give you the tape of my discussion with the person who want you dead then you can use it to take any legal action. Good luck as I await your urgent responds to this email (balack.woodaka000@hotmail.fr )

Bye.

Balack Wood.

That sounds like my every day typical mail. Huh?,...You mean that's not normal??

hahahaha!!!

It's probably some scumbag down the street that's retaliating because you got mad at him for letting his dog crap in your yard..LOL!, then disguises himself by typing the letter out with horrible english skills to sound like some mean hitman from a third-world country.

Seriously though, that is pretty brazenly ballsy of someone. And it would be great to find out who the responsible party was,...then you could...."eliminate his life by all means"..LOL!

later man!, ~Doug

LOL- these guys never give up. I used to "play" with them out of boredom (ie wasting their time). Now I just give them the address to the closest FBI office... who knows how many money orders the scammers have sent to them-lol!

A friend did recieve one of those money orders (just to see how good the scammers are). They are TOP NOTCH...really I couldn't tell it was a fake although we knew it was.
