Sanitation

panic Aug 15, 2009 07:57 PM

Found a wooden statue thing in my house that would look cool as hell in my snake enclosure. Wondering if it would be "sanitized" after a week in the freezer. I don't really feel like taking my little Boa to the Vet for parasites over enclosure aesthetics.

letting it soak in a solution of a little bleach in hot water, boiling it or even in the oven would all work.

im no expert but i dont think the freezer is very effective at sterileization

As a rule - I don't think it is a good idea to put anything wooden into a snake cage. You will never be able to keep it clean and it will become a problem after a while.

Take care,

Kevin
