Honduran Hatch Time

mfoux Aug 17, 2009 12:45 AM

Hey guys, I'm currently working on my first two clutches of Hondo eggs. The temps are around 74 degrees and fairly consistent. How many days should I expect for these to take at this temp? I've heard that at 80 degrees it usually takes 60-65 days and each degree below 80 is usually two more days. Does that sound about right?
The first clutch was laid on June 13.

I'm not exactly sure how long it will take at 74 degrees, but at about 80 or so, my stuff usually is in the range of 70-73 days or so. Corns and some others will hatch right at about 60 days even(give or take), but Hondurans take a bit more time at the same given temp of 80.

The two day difference per degree you mentioned seems about right(give or take).

Good luck with things!

My 1st clutch pipped on day 70 at an avg temp of 79 ... with a few incidental spikes into the low 80s. Best of luck! Adam

At 74 my guess is they would go at least 80 days.
