VPI T+ Hytec & Aztec TH Litter!

perfectpredators Aug 17, 2009 10:49 AM

Hello folks! Wanted to inform everyone in the herp comunity that the Hytec female I put in with a VPI T Pos male just had a litter today 8/17/2009, and they did a great job. It was a small litter however I must say the VPI T Pos gene sure does make an impact even on a het basis. See the babies below. Also the Hypo gene running through the female made some gorgeous Hytecs and Hypos het VPI T Pos. I placed the male in 2/13 and he courted her right away, she Ovulated 4/14 and the babies were born this morning:

Sire:

Dam:

Babies:

I am super excited as this weekend is Daytona and as I will be walking around or hanging out in the evenings, now I'll have a great story. LOL! I feared she'd drop while I was visiting the show and I would only be talking about the litter "im expecting" LOL. Thank you for reading about this litter im very happy about!

Thanks again!

Congrats Manny! The babies look great!
Has anyone bred a Hytek before? I'm sure someone has but I just don't remember it being done. I was wondering if it would work like the Hypo Motleys and only make Hypos and Azteks. I'm glad to hear that's not the case!
Congrats again- What a litter!

Big congratulations Manny on one heck of a litter, those are some gorgeous babies for sure. Not only did you produce the first T+'s with this litter, it appears you have shown you can breed an Aztec to a Hypo and get Hytec's, Aztec's, Hypo's and normals. From what I've read that can't happen with the Motley gene meaning some morph combos will only happen with the Aztec gene. I agree and It's about time Aztec combos started popping up and will continue at a steady pace with the best yet to come.

perfectpredators Aug 17, 2009 06:41 PM

Roger that! I was wondering if that'll be the case and now we know. Great thing about your morph!
