Anyone in Florida?????

NUCCIZ_BOAS Aug 18, 2009 09:25 AM

As we all know, Daytona is this weekend. It was just brought to my attention that there is a large tropical storm nearing FL, and Hurricane Bill not too far behind it. I have looked online but gotten little help. Was wondering if any FL residents could shine some light on the weather down there this weekend. Everything says "possible" thunderstorms. Problem is the weather says Possible Thunderstorms in Chicago almost every day, and we never see them. lol.

Any info would help, dont really want to make the drive across the country to be couped up in the hotel all weekend

Thanks in advance
Tony

Bill, the 2nd named storm will be approx 960 /- miles off the eastern coast of Fl on Thursday. We may have som erain this weekend......id say its likely, but unless the storm Makes a dramatic 90 degree right turn it is forecast to head north up the atlantic seaboard and possibly mak landfall in Maine or canada on Tues of next week.

ENJOY DAYTONA EVERYONE!

When you say there may be some rain, meaning steady through the weekend, or scattered? I know its not predictable, but based on experience what do you think? The girlfriend really wants to lay out on the beach a little this weekend, so any insight you could give is appreciated

I think you will have some sun. Best best is to call the concierge at the hotel the day before you head up and ask em for a visual update......ask if its been sunny...but with where the storm is "supposed" to be as of now, you should have some sun......the eye will be located some 900 miles offshore......

I'm about an hour South of Daytona. Bring your Board my friend. It'll be fun. Show on Sat. morning , thanking Bill for what he brings the rest of the weekend.
