columbian rainbow breeding size

monremonda Aug 18, 2009 12:35 PM

Hi all,

I have a pair of columbian rainbow boas and was wondering what size (length & weight) was appropriate to start thinking about breeding them. I know they mature smaller than BRB's and larger than GRB's, but that is a pretty wide range.

Thanks,
Mike

Mike,
...Females need to be around 4 feet and a little more than 2 pounds. Males can be smaller. This subspecies can breed at 18 or 19 months and deliver babies by 2 years of age. Colombians do get pretty big with some older ones over 5.5 feet long.
