Tink's litter came early........

rainbowsrus Aug 18, 2009 08:47 PM

A whole week early. Due on 08/25 that puts her actual gestation at POS plus 110. But they are full term, no yolk babies. Woohoo!!!

I was busy taking pics of fresh shed babies from the prior two litters. I was done and turned to leave the room and saw.....

I just love it when the first random pulled baby from the cage looks like......

And the obligatory pile o' wigglers picture, this was a tough one, opened the tub and they started to bolt as I snapped one pic, will have to do for now......

Total of 17 live babies and two slugs (at least that's all the slugs I found) Only 5 or 6 were still in the egg sacks so I'd say the litter was an hour or two old when discovered.

4 - 27 gram
7 - 28 gram
6 - 29 gram

A little on the smaller size but still well within normal.

This year's Tink x Phoenix litter was a repeat of my 2008 pairing. Little did I know how close it would be to an exact repeat.

Last year the litter was born 16 days earlier on 08/02 and was also 17 babies w/2 slugs. How's that for consistant?

thats cool. my one female ball python is like that. She for some reason usually lays her eggs within a day or two from when she had her first clutch.
