Pics of my orange Stillwater

She was not being very cooperative so the photos aren't that great. I read on here a discussion about snakes tongues shedding and I believe that there was discussion about them shedding their hemipenes. She was sold to me as a female but when looking at her shed tonight there where two red "scales" attached to either side of the cloaca that seem strange. Could these have been the hemipenes or am I seeing things?

Very nice animal. I have a pair and I love them, excpet they are the meanest damn snakes on the planet! LOL. Well, the female anyway. Every time I walk by the cage I hear "thump!" as she hits the front.

Regarding the shedding, I don't think that indicates a male. I've seen that in both males and females and I think that it's just related to the scent glands that on either side of the cloaca.

You know I did not even consider scent glands. I must be lucky my Black Pines, Northern Pines and all my bulls are mellow. Well several of them are like my female Eastern King and try to eat me during feeding times but that is a good thing.
