Black Pastel Albino

mikebell Aug 19, 2009 10:28 AM

This is a Black Pastel Albino that I hatched last year. Very interesting breeding story. The mom was a small het albino, she was added in to the breeding room in June without ever having been cooled. A male black pastel het albino was put with her once for two days, I saw no breeding activity. I decided that it was a waste of time and never put a male in again. I was shocked when she laid in late September. I hatched 1.1 Black Pastel Albinos. The male was small, but this girl was even smaller weighing about 33gr. Runts can be ferocious feeders and she was. She ate pinks before her first shed and has never slowed down. The extreme amount of white on her really makes her stand out. Thanks to GCR for the male Black Pastel het albino and getting me started improving my albinos with this project.

Stop by in Daytona and say hello. I'd like to put a face to some of the names on the forum. Expo table #277

Stunning! Such great contrast and sure held on to deep yellow color! I love it. Hmmmm...what shall I do with my GCR black pastel girl coming in today???

Perhaps I'll put her with this young man in a few years:

Congrats on those. Very, very attractive combo. Thanks for sharing!

No, unfortunately I won't be going to Daytona....I live in CA. I've been wanting to go but have had to put money elsewhere the past few years. Hopfully next year!

It is so much better, in my eyes, than some of the other albino crosses like the albino spider. I can say that from experience, I have both. I'll put more effort in to the Black Pastel Albino though.

beautiful animal. here is a 09 cinnamon albino female (next to a regular albino) i produced this year. i have a cinn albino male clutch mate as well. i was wondering if you'd be interested in trading a black pastel albino for a cinnamon albino in an effort to diversify your animals. very few of these produced this year it appears so let me know.
thanks
