How long are figuring gestation is? What are you thinking in terms of numbers for a big litter?

Hello John.

They mated earlier this year (begining of february) so, they migth give birth in October. Time will tell, I had miscalculated with my fordii.

Last time she had a litter of 17 where 11 where live and this year she is twice the size she was last time, that´s why i think there could be a big litter in her.

Regards Peter

Peter,
keep us posted of the birth date, with pictures naturally. I think I have 3 gravid melanurus for sure, plus a possible 2 that are gravid.
By the pictures you posted of your gravid girl I will guess that 2 of my females are the same size. Though they have only given me 9 - 12 on their first and only breedings so far. However, they look noticeably larger this time around, than they did the first time.
My largest female is a little over a meter long, this is also here first mating. I still am not sure if she is truly gravid, or just fooling me. But I am curious to see how many she has.
None of my females go off their food when gravid, so there is few indicators as to if they are gravid or not.
JQP.
