Me and my husband are ready for this commitment. We had a savannah monitor but he passed away. We have 12 other different species of lizards, 2 sulcatas, and an 8 1/2' red-tail boa. We dpon't and cant have children so all of out spare time and attention goes to our reptiles with love and affection and I try to learn everything to know the best for them. We our in the process of buying a four bedroom house for them. I would eventually like to start a sanctuary for mistreated and unwanted reptiles. Our savannah monitor was always kind of sick and had a bad parasite problem but in the end he had genetic kidney enlargement or tumors. He lived with us for a year and a half. He started acting sick again so I took him to the vet again thinking it was something that could be fixed I found out the above. He was in kidney failure and had maybe a month to live. He was housebroken and didnt even need a leash outside. He was so tame and sweet and affectionate. I held him til the end.

I live in Alabama and have a friend that works at a small pet store and he deals in reptiles and knows where to get anything it seems. He knows a breeder I believe. I will have to ask where. Someone else at the pet store told me the guy came from Georgia to deliver it. Very healthy and beautiful and tame. Still a baby that fits in my hand. The guy takes good care of them.
