Eggs advice please!

kennny Aug 23, 2009 11:35 AM

Hi everyone,

I had a little surprise this afternoon when getting back from a wedding to find one of my snakes had laid a clutch -i had no idea she was pregnant! 7 slugs and 3 good eggs the eggs were still soft-ish, she had no laying box so just laid on the news paper the eggs were stuck together and to the paper, i cut a section around the clutch without separating the eggs- will this news paper cause any problems to the eggs? as anyone experienced any problems with this issue? any advice anyone has would be greatly appreciated, many thanks,

K

I have had the news paper sticking to the bottom of the eggs a few times and have never had an issues. I useualy wet the papper trying not to get water on the eggs and pull as much of the paper off as possible but you shoouldn't have any problems. JMO

try to pull as much paper off as you can( it can mold )..wait for them to harden some and maybe brush them softly with a soft tooth brush... eggs are very toughf

Incubate and you'll be a proud parent in 50-60 days.
