Orange Amels

guyergenetics Aug 23, 2009 07:00 PM

The clutch from my quad het female has finished hatching and I've sorted out the babies. I'm happy to report that we got 18 hatchlings out of 18 eggs in this clutch. Also, the Normal Male that I bred to the quad het is now a known het Amel.

The funny thing is the Amels that came out of this pairing. They are bright orange and look like Creamscicles but there is no Emoryi blood present. These are pure Corn.

>>Very nice
Nice looking babies, nice numbers (18 for 18) and good deal proving the normal is het amel. Great clutch
and I like the orange!!!

Thanks Jimmy. I'm going to hold back a few of these 'Orange Amels' to see how their color changes as they grow. I think that in the future I will also experiment with crossing these into a lot of my other bloodlines just to see if it changes anything or makes a new look for an already existing morph.

The next clutch to hatch should be my first of 4 clutches possible for Lavender Motleys. I got them last year so lets hope that the odds fall in our favor again.
