Pastel Mystics just out

anthony james mc Aug 24, 2009 06:56 PM

Got some really nice odds on this clutch . I bred two different Mystic males to this Pastel female , she laid 8 eggs , 2 eggs went bad in the first 5 days so I was bummed and down to just 6 eggs. I was pleased to see 3 Pastel Mystics , 2 regular Mystics and a normal crawl out of their shells this weekend! Hopefully this lucky clutch doesn't offset my odds on the 4 eggs cooking from Mystic x Mystic as the law of averages can bite you in the butt on those "must know" clutches too so I'm a little superstitious about now about that important clutch at the end of my hatching season.

That pastel influence really cleans up the look of the mystics.

I agree Jason, especially considering the Pastel mother isn't that extreme looking on her own as a Pastel either. My logic was because the Mystic is dark already that it would make sense to just breed Mystic into darker Pastels as the pattern influence is what I'm looking for anyway not so much the color. Now that I have the Pastel Mystic I'll take a male Pastel Mystic into one of the nicer looking female Pastels or even a Super Pastel female in hopes of eventually making a Super Pastel Mystic with better Pastel color added in at that point.

I was going to say...pastave x mystic, or pastel mystic x mojave...I wonder what would occur with that crossing. There's so many places to go with this morph.
