Baby Bearded Dragon

WelshBoa May 25, 2003 08:28 AM

Hi guys,

I know I've only had the dragon a day but it doesnt seem overly interested in the crickets in his tank. Do u think he will just go for them when he is hungry and should I try greens?

You need to give the dragon time to settle in. The first week, or maybe even two weeks may not seem normal. Sometimes dragons will settle right in on day one, some may take longer. Also, dont leave crickets in there with the dragon. If anything offer a few crickets(try a smaller cricket maybe, make sure though the crickets are no larger than the space between your dragons eyes)and if the dragon doesnt go after them within a few minutes, take the crickets out. You can leave chopped veggies in there and maybe even soaked pellets. Offer the crickets 2-3 times a day, and make sure the basking spot is up there......like 115F or so. Chris Allen

OK cheers Chris. Have been taking them out at night. Is brocolli ok to use - may look up that list that someone had. Do they take to those pellets then?I've also sprayed the little dragon with a tiny bit of water and he/she has been licking it off the face which is good.
