Probably are a few for free. But I use Fototime.

It is worth the extra $29.yr. and i can store a TON of pics.

They have batch upload (which Photobucket does not have) and you can make albums for every year.Actually as may albums as you want. Makes posting pics and ease. Simple easy way to post pics.

What's batch uploading? Photobucket has a bulk uploaded where they upload a whole bunch of photos at once and it's way faster than the flickr. I haven't tried phototime but I will check it out.

With FotoTime you just drag and drop. You can click on as many pictures as you want by holding the Ctrl button.. Photobucket has more steps to load each pic.

I think photobucket had added a different way to upload photos since you last used them. It's really easy to get a whole bunch going now. Flickr took forever for me when I tried them. I'll still have to check out fototime.

Flickr is the one that everybody from Twitter seems to be using.

I'm using Picli. Here's my hatchling pic that they've got on their Showcase page.

Guys,
If you haven't already tried it, go download Picasa from google. (It's free, and it ROCKS)

With it, you can manipulate all of your pics, organize and create local albums for easy navigation and upload direct to Picasa Web Albums. (Again, free offering via google)

They give you 1GB of free storage. (which is a TON of photos if you make them web friendly, which Picasa can help do for you)

I will second that...being able to manage your photos locally with the picassa app (and then upload them to the web) is great
stuff.

I agree Picasa is nice. It also will link with Goggle and display the GPS location where the picture was taken if it was tagged. I have been using it to upload pics from field herping to keep track of what I have found in certain areas.

What are you using to tag your pix? I got the Nikon P6000 and it's ok but frequently takes prohibitively long to get a gps fix. I'm not sure why that is, when my iPhone can grab a location in seconds. There's a workaround to use the iPhone and some software to transfer locations to pix by syncing the times they were taken. But i'd love it if someone--i'm partial to canon--released a really good implementation of geotagging.
(just fyi, i'm not wanting to carry a fullsized SLR, i know there are some solutions using those)

I take the long way. I use my digital camera to take good shots then I use the camera on my Blackberry to take a pic with the GPS cords embedded. Later I use a program called Geosetter to embed tags on the better photos using the ones from my phone as a guide.

..and it's available for windoze, mac and linux.
