WC Eastern hatchling

hogsandpythons Aug 25, 2009 11:24 PM

From an area where I see a lot of them in WI, and usually leave them where I see them, I wild caught an Eastern Milk, quarantined her, hatched the eggs, then returned mom and hatchlings.

I held on to this one though. Not a very naturalistic shot, but I sure love the looks of this guy just after shed. Wish they stayed like this.

that's a beauty!! those are some big-a blotches on its neck. Very cool looking. Did you snap any pics of the dam before release?

Thanks Dave. You'd think I would've, but I didn't get pictures of the Dam nor did I get a lot of hatch shots. Several really nice ones in the clutch, but this was the stand out.

Very, very NICE L.t.t.

As Dave said those blotches are huge. Much bigger and a lot less numerous than the blotches on the ones I see in MA and CT.

Thanks Joe, he is a stunning little guy, which is why I held on to him. If I can't get him feeding in a few attempts, I'll put him back on the hill. I got 8 hatchlings from 7 eggs and kept a pair from the clutch. The female is very nice too, but smaller blotches as were the others.
