Dave,

Thanks for posting this. Like many others, I don't believe the python killed the child. There are too many holes in the guy's story and things that don't make sense. And the guy's not exactly an upstanding citizen in the community, so his credibility is not the greatest. There are some good comments at the end of this article:

More and more, it's becoming obvious that the boyfriend did the deed, but at this point, I think the prosecutors probably didn't have enough evidence to get him for that.

Definitely a possibility, I agree.
My gut feeling is that the police/prosecutors at the very least suspect the snake didn't kill the girl. But after the Governor, Senator Nelson and the AR wackos have used this case to push their anti-python legislation, I'm not sure prosecutors would really seek the truth (or even mention the possibility the snake was innocent) anyway. Especially since they have the guy on drug charges and manslaughter charges. Hopefully the general public will start doubting the story as more details come out.

Child services was involved with this even before the child's death.
