All males!!??

Robhaneisen Aug 26, 2009 10:23 PM

It had to happen sooner or later. My first clutch (pictured below) of 7 tangerine albinos turned out to be all males!! That's a first for me. I once had a clutch of 12 hypos turn out 11 females and one male

At least the next clutch of of six albinos was 5 females and one male.

In case anyone is wondering, I sex all my hatchlings by probing after they have shed and my incubation temps were 79-80 degrees. Incubation time was about 65-67 days.

So your overall results were 8 males and 5 females, not too far off the statistical expectation of roughly 50/50. It happens, that's the nature of random statistics....

Brad:

This is just the results of the first two clutches. I've got nine more clutches (about 53 good eggs) coming so maybe I'll end up closer to 50/50 in the end. I'l post something on the totals at the end of the season.
