Jlassiter Aug 26, 2009 11:17 PM

These are the best pics I could get of this new girl...
I took these at the hotel room after the show Saturday night....
I'll work on getting some decent ones this weekend....
I like her red/orange spots in her "saddles?".....

Thank you Aubrey....Yep...I found these two early Saturday...then did some lineage research on foot at the show...lol
Found out they were from Lee Abbott thayeri via Robert Cox & Alec Estabrook at Peace River via Jime Minesinger at Salt Creek Reptiles and went back and got them....lol

BTW...It was nice to finally meet you in person. That was only my second time to make the Daytona show. I think we will make it an annual thing now....
What all did you find there Aubrey....I remember seeing a cool reduced black thayeri in your bag.....Post some pics when you can..

So cool. Man, thayeri are crazy. I won't even think about getting into those! I'd drive myself crazy trying to get every possible color/pattern that exists. LOL.

Sounds like Michelle....LOL
Or my wife with shoes and purses....Hehehe

I think I was like that at one time too...lol
At least I can count Mex Mex color/pattern/phases on my hands....
That is why I want every color/pattern of them.....lol

I've always said that I have a addictive personality and good thing these snakes aren't crack.....

Thanks for the compliment....

Check the thread below concerning Mbodner's aberrant thayeri.
Two produced in two years....nearly identical....

Does your aberrant have a patternless belly?

I produced one in 2007, one in 2008 from the same breeding.
We will see what hatches when I pair them up in 2 years.

Do you know any history on the parents? Lineage? Who produced them?

One animal was from the hammacks, the other was bought over here in Germany but shows little aberrancies.
I think the Hammack animal is a vivid animal, but can't prove.

No more infos, sorry!

This year I produced some more leopards....

Very nice aberrant/spotted thayeri Burnsy...
Those are very similar to what is emerging from some of our thayeri over here in the states.

Did you read Pikiemikie's thread below?

Anyway...I think it is a co-dominant trait...Pattern variation that can be genetically reproduced...
This is my guess......
When you breed an aberrant to a classic looking mate they will throw mostly normals with some slight aberrancies. When you pair two aberrants....especially from the same bloodline....Most of the offspring should be aberrant....

I stated below, mine do all have a patterned belly.

Seems genetic but not same bloodline.

Is it me or is your aberrants mostly male?
-----
Todd Hughes

Burnsy Aug 28, 2009 09:44 AM

Last year it was a female, the year before a male and this year two females and 4 males....so it is just random and in both genders!
