I would put her down as gently as possible. Just my opinion. Good luck.

If you need a good humane way to euthanize her, here are instructions on how to create a very simple CO2 euthanasia chamber:

if you want to put her down then i would buy a bucket and some dry ice. i put the animals in the bucket and put dry ice in a cup. i put some water in the cup and cover the bucket with a screen( do all this in a hurry and protect your hands when handling the dry ice(use tongs)). less than 8 bucks at the depot and like 3 bucks for dry ice at a welding supply store.
i pesonally would just let her lay and then let the babies wean or uthenize them all at once. free pinks.

When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car.

Let her have the babies. Tumors don't seem to bother them a lot.

I had adopted some dumbo rats once. One developed what looked like a tumor. I thought he'd die for sure. But it actually went away on it's own and he went on to live a healthy life (he was a pet, not food). I think in his case it was a kind of abscess and not an actual tumor. It was about the size of a marble. I can't remember now if it was squishy or hard, it was several years ago. Hopefully that's what your girl has and it will go away on it's own. If it's bothering her I'd think she'd be fussing with it, trying to lick it or bite at it. If she's not fussing with it then it probably isn't bothering her.

Does she even react when you touch the tumor? It might not be causing her any pain?? Tumors are actually farily common in older rats.
