That's because the pics you posted on the "ratsnake" forum were taken with your cell phone, and were WAY WAY more redish than these.

NOW I can see the Gray Rat you were talking about..LOL!,..what a difference those pics are from the other ones.

Well,...I can see a lot of Gray rat in THESE pics, but it could also have some influence from another obsoleta as well. I say this because of the belly pic. I think it probably has some Texas Rat influence as well.

Anyway, much more discernable than the other pics you posted.

best regards, ~Doug

Not only because of the belly coloration alone, but in addition to that, the scattered orange flecking on the dorsal scales I see. This is what leads me to think it is basically a Gray Rat, with some Texas Rat influence.

Yea....the other pics looked like the ones my cousin took at the Rolling Stones concert 33 or so years ago...AFTER he spilled the jug of vodka and orange juice on the camera....they all had an orange wash to them......

....this is a pic.....

and yes I'd say grey ......

HAHA!!,....sounds like your cousin accidentally made his own "lava lamp" camera with the vodka and OJ!

It seems very appropriate for the era of those "good ol'" days!..LOL!

If you look real close, you can just make out a ratsnake in there too!..hahaha!

my hosue is like 100 feet from the spot he got squished...I live like less than a block from work...rush hour traffic for me is waiting for one light to change so I can cross a road....LOL...with little traffic...(usually don't have to stop walking even).......it's as far to area I work as it is to front door...people I work with park all over the street here, even in my yard technically....

anyways......still no sign of the other motley striped or opal, the rat, the various mice etc etc...I got traps set at all times...I got stuff out all the time...got a BIG male mouse out of my boots I wear in winter only a couple hours ago...he kept peeking up out at a friend while we were standing there talking $$$snakes......

sad sad sad....my "snake hunting" stories and all are in the home and front yard.....damn I need to downsize.....ALOT!!!
