My dog found this little guy in the backyard tonight, had him cornered against the privacy fence. Things are finally starting to move here in Central Texas!

I had a German Shepherd adult nailed on the snout by a EDB and in was bad. They sent him home after one day of observation and one vile. He looked like a Chow dog with the swelling. The swelling findly cut of his breathing after three days and he died. I took pictures and have never opened them.It was in 1980. Be very carful with your Doby. I've got Mocks out here were I live now and my Bloodhound worries me as he runs with his nose near the ground. He protecks my tortoises from Racoons so I need him out there. Anyone know how to train them to "notice them" and stay back from them? It was a very bad ordeal. Did your dog just bark and stay back? What did you do? Thanks Vic.

There are people out there that can train your dog to avoid snakes. They bring in a few different species in cages and use a strong correction (usually with an electric collar) whenever they get near. Its old school avoidance training but its acceptable when dealing with dangerous situations like this.

I have a bloodhound now....nose to the ground everywhere she goes.I've tryed some training ,by calling her over to black racers in a attempt to skold her if she gets near a strikeing snake. She never sees them. Maybe one will bite her and she will learn be leary of them. We have Mocs often. Very worried. Any ideas. Vic
