white's diet

anichcha May 25, 2003 09:15 AM

hey froggers! i've recently started keeping frogs, and i absolutely love them! i have been thinking about setting up a home for some fabulous white's (my local rep. shop has baby blues), but i hesitate because i could never feed pinkies to the frog. my question: are pinkies mandatory to a white's health? any advice/info greatly appreciated! thanks!

no, pinkies are not. I feed my white crickets. When your whites get older you could probably feed them pinkies.

NO,you should never feed pinky or fuzzy mice as the whites diet. If you do only once or twice a month because the adult frogs cant digest them really good, Ive heard it can give them kidney problems too. ONly give the mice as "treats", never as a regular diet. Hope this helped!

pinkies are VERY high in FAT, and frogs digestivive sytem is not made top handle Pinkies, this is why if you feed them to many pinkies they will become obese and die of kidney failure. only feed your frog pinkies at the most 1 per month, or even better 1 per 2months.
