Breeding questions...

SouthernSerpent Aug 31, 2009 08:06 PM

What is a good length and weight to have on a male and a female retic before breeding them? How important is age in this formula? What are the usual averages for each sex? Just looking for a little help on breeding since we are new to this. Thanks.

ideally you would like mainlands to be at least 11 feet or so and a good 50lbs or there abouts. age is my important than size. because it is easily possible to have a 11 foot female retic in less than two years. females usually reach sexual maturity at 3-4 years of age. there are many times, however, that females will not take or even be interested in breeding that first time right 3 years old. best way to find out, is when you know you have a male that is at least 1 1/2 years old (ideally 2 years old or more in my opinion) and a female that is at least 3 years old (ideally closer to four in my opinon), you throw them in together and see how goes it
