seeulater Sep 01, 2009 03:38 PM

Just got him/her of Craig list for $20. I am like the 4th or 5th owner in the last 2 yrs. Only 2 yrs old to. The last owner kept it in a dark blue 18 gal Tub w/o light. He was selling because it kept get out of the tub. I need to put some weight on the poor thing.

This my first python.

What color is my new baby? I thank it is a normal.
My book dose not have any pics of the color variants.

He's a normal...and looks like he's in the blue phase of shedding. Make sure you have good humidity in the cage for the next week or two, till he sheds.

Congratulations! I'm sure he will be much happier in his new loving home. Ball pythons are great pets. Most of mine are super snuggly and love to come out and be handled. Welcome to the forum and enjoy your new friend!

For a 2 years old male, I think he look in good shape. Not because he got many owner that he isn't. I hope you are giving him his last home .

Like others said, he looks normal and in shed.

You don't need to provide him with a light. They need heat. Give him a hot spot of 90-95F and a gradient that goes to 82-85 and he should be quite fine

Some books are quite old and the information in them can be inacurate. Lot of information/guide have come to help us there so far. Look online for caresheets, it should help you.

here is some :

Good luck with him
