Hey guys
Just wanted to share a pic of my best California kingsnake hatchling this year. It's an almost perfect "desert 50/50", just one broken black ring. I'm definitely going to keep this little beauty.

Peter,
That has got to be one of the best looking 50/50 Cal kings I have seen. The white is bright and clean...
Great looking little Cali.....
What does it's siblings look like?
Parents?

The siblings are of verious quality in pattern. Most have a good part of the body covered with even banding, but not all bands like this one. The pic is taken just after hatching. She's brighter now after shedding.
The female is pretty nice, however not that pitch black, In the sun you can see that her dark bands really are dark brown. father is black and white, but not as wide white bands as the female. I'll try to post more pics later.

That is amazing!!! A lot of 50/50's I see don't have complete rings but more of a broken ring, like this. I don't like this type, it doesn't look natural.

Well I keep a few of those too, but they're not "desert" phase, they're just "high whites". I prefere the banded desert phase.
Spectacular snake there my friend, AND it has a cool "happy face" with a big fat grin on the back of it's head. Look closer, you'll see what I mean.....

The entire clutch of 12 have a smiley on the back of the head and so did last years hatchlings have too.
Looks very 50/50. Way cool.
