Wiggly little snakes...

daniel1983 Sep 03, 2009 10:52 AM

I was trying out some camera settings today and figured I would attempt to snap a few pictures of my Scarlet kings. One photographed well....the other wouldn't sit still and kept biting me. Just thought I would share.

Pictures of the my female without a flash.

Same picture but with a flash. I prefer no flash with this setting.

The one that wouldn't sit still. I like how his yellow bands turn orange for the last band near his head.

VERY nice!....

Yes,...little wiggler's for SURE!..LOL!

Are they feeling nice and secure, and feeding well for you?

I used to have a lot of those, and as you know, some can be quite a challenge, especially some hatchlings, even for the "well-seasoned" keeper. I really liked the few I had that would come jetting out of the enclosure to snatch a pinkie from my hand. That is certainly the exception though!..LOL!

nice stuff!

This is my first time keeping scarlets and I have had them for around 5 months now. From what I have been told by others, I am very lucky that these two have pounded live newborn pinkie mice since I aquired them.

Now that I disturbed them a bit with the pictures, we will have to see if that changes...ha ha.

They probably need another year on them before I attempt a breeding, but I am looking forward to it. That is a long way off at this point though

Cool!,.....

Go to the "milksnake" forum for all the feeding tricks when the time comes. As you will most likely need to have an "arsenal" of different tricks and techniques under your belt for those tiny pencil lead "kids". Lots of patience is definitely required, among other things..LOL!

Lots of guys I know over there that also have many of these.

best regards, ~Doug
