First pic in other post was an eastern rat snake.

Cool pics! Do you find quite a few timber rattlesnakes?

Unfortunately, I only see live ones every now and then. I see them mostly dor. This one was active on the surface and was spotted crossing a hiking trail. It was really hot at about 2:00pm. He looked like he was in the middle of making a migration or possibly looking for a mate. Definitely going somewhere with purpose it seemed.

Nice diverse group! Wish we had timbers down in south Texas!

Yes, the timbers are cool. This one rattled alot, but never even struck at me. Kinda scary though, he was found about 50 yards from a campsite where about 10 families were spending their weekend. I guess what they don't know won't hurt them. I didn't want to tell them about the snake for fear of them killing it after I left.

Yes. I felt very bad for the young eastern cottonmouth. He looked like he was on his last limb. Nice pattern though. Hopefully he has found food since then. There are certainly plenty of frogs around the area.
