frilled has some problems

diablocds1 Sep 16, 2003 02:33 PM

I just got a frilled dragon a week ago and he has been doing great up until yesterday. I noticed small blister like things on his back and some on his arms and legs. I had just recently bought him a mercury vapor bulb, and I don't know if that has anything to do with it. The only vet I could find who does reptiles around my area wont be around until thursday, so I was trying to get some help online first. I called a reptile breeder near me and they said it could be because it is too moist in his cage, or it could be he is too close to the light. Any information would be appreciated, any opinions?

thankyou,
April

I had the bulb 12" away from him like it said in the directions for the bulb but since he got the blisters I took the bulb out, and put a regular basking bulb. My frilled is about 9 or 10 inches, I dont know how old he is. the temp at his basking area is about 100 degrees and at the cooler side its about 85-90. I spray him about twice a day, and feed him about 20 crickets a day. I dont know what else could be causing the blisters. They are small blisters that are a kind of white color, and they are all over the back of his body, whish makes me think its gotta be the light cause there is nothing on his underside. well if anyone knows any possibilities I'd like to hear from you.
thankyou,
April
