New (old?) ghosts

Guttersnacks Sep 04, 2009 01:34 PM

Here are some pictures I shot today of a some baby ghost corns. I have a trio of these from Chris at www.kingofkingsreptiles.com

These are unlike any other ghosts I've seen, though I'm not saying I've seen them all...
The color change they go through to adulthood is ridiculous. You can bet I'll be taking pictures every time they shed.

The newer female I added after I picked up the initial pair, all from the same clutch.

Here's the male...

and the other female....

I was referring to the fact that these snakes possibly came from one of the older lines of ghosts that have been around from way back in the day. My own details on it are a bit foggy, Chris can probably clarify. This is all just a little speculation mind you. The adults came from Steve DeShon (sp?) who might have gotten his from Howie.
Regardless, they're gorgeous and I cant wait to watch 'em grow! I'm less about exactly what they are and more about how striking they look.

Wow, I really like that first female especially. What do ghosts from this line look like fully grown?

They can be a little bit variable. Some with a little more blushing than the others. Sometimes, as they mature...the rosy colors IN the saddles, move to the outside of the saddles and the saddles end up looking very newspaperish. VERY cool. I'm trying to get Chris to take photos of the other one he's got.

Here's a direct link to the adult male photo'd on his site (he's sitting right next to me and gave me the OK on this), the photo is a bit big, sorry.
