YAAAAAH! Another Quiz

gmerker Sep 04, 2009 01:37 PM

Yep....another quiz!

I think this one will be A LOT easier than Robert’s quiz…..that’s the good news; the bad news, I don’t have a cool prize.

Below are a series of ten images…..five have been posted here on this site before. They are babies from a pair of breeding Gray-banded Kingsnakes found around Sanderson in June of 2007. Try the match the baby image with the image of the young adults…

Pretty amazing how much these animals change….

Extra Credit: If you have any baby/adult images POST ‘em here so we can see….thanks, G. Merker

First the babies:

A.

B.

C.

D.

E.

Now the two year old animals:

1.

2.

3.

4.

5.

GOOD LUCK!

Cool thread by the way, its neat to see what some of those things end up looking like. And neat trying to figure out which scale was where in one pic and then in a later pic.

The answers:
A----5
B----4
C----3
D----2
E----1

It appears A and E were easily distinguished by most people. Thanks for playing, G. Merker

I see that some of the pictures and snakes are duplicated and mixed so this Quiz may have been a little tough for you too, Gerald, LOL!!!

You have B as #4 but If you study the head patterns REAL close on B and C they match exactly so B and C look to be the same snake....even the tail banding on C matches the tail banding on #4

Now you have D as #2 but D has 11 orange blotches not counting the nuchal blotch but # 2 has 14 orange blotches not counting the nuchal blotch so these dont match and since we now know B and C are the same snake there looks to be no baby match for # 2...

FUN Quiz, Gerald....makes you really look hard to find the matching ones even if some dont match :0)

I stand corrected! I apologize ... you are correct....two are duplicates...I went with poor notes instead of checking the pictures...I'll post the correct image later...again, sorry, G. Merker

PS you are younger than me...hence the better eyesight! lol

This should be correct...please note, as pointed out by Bill Corwin, two pictures were of the same animal...they are still both posted...I added the correct 4th animal....humblest apologies to those who agonized over their answers!
