wormout gel

Not that I am going to rush out and do it but can Igs be given Wormout Gel??? Praziquantel and Oxfendazole are the
active ingredents.

Hi, I wouldnt give it to them. I looked up the ingredients and the one thing (Droncit)is for tapeworm. Does your animal have tapeworm? If not that would be a waste. The other ingredient is less safe for reptiles than fenbendazole (Panacur) from what I read. With Panacur a safe alternative I dont know why anyone would try the bird wormer.

I dont know much about parasites. Just my 2 cents.

you need to identify parasite prior to treatment..certain ingrediants are more toxic to reptiles (and species specific sensitivities). Secondly, intestinal parasites can be useful under most circumstances to your reptile's digestive process(hindgut fermentation and colic valves). Check with your vet and run appropriate identity tests prior to blanket usage of broad spectrum treatments.
