Just got this guy up at the NARBC Show

Lokii Sep 06, 2009 02:02 AM

So I got a screaming deal on this two year old Cuban Rock Iguana at the NARBC Show in Anaheim today! The show wasn't as big as I remember in the past, but it was alot of fun to go and see all the neat stuff! I was told this guy is two years old, male and ariginally purchased from Bob Ehrige? I think that is the correct speeling? maybe not? I dunno. Anyways, What do you all think? Crappy pic I know, but I wanted to let him settle in without disturbing him.

I got my pairs from Bob also. I think he has the best looking cubans around. He keeps detailed records on the parentage of his lizards.

Beautiful looking lizards! How do you spell his last name? Just curious? Also what do you keep your basking temps at? I was told and read the same as a green?

your basking temp should be higher than a green ig. Most people keep their green igs to low, I dont know what you were told or read. your cyclura's basking temp under the light should be 125-135. Have a proper gradient.

Thanks..His temps have been adjusted and he is doing good. Since I seemed to have read a not so good care sheet on them, can you recommend one?

Not much out there. On David Blair's website, herpnut.com, there is an article describing the species and his captive care. You can find the same article on cyclura.com in the articles pages. I am still holding my breath for Lemm's book. I guess it takes years to translate into spanish. That was a cheap shot at Jeff In fairness, SDZ must be doing something right for the success Jeff has had.
Otherwise, ask a lot of question here.
