Smelly Situation

BKALINOWSKI Sep 06, 2009 01:43 PM

I need some advice. I have a snake room with about 50 boas/ball pythons. The question I have, is there anyway to make the room smell "fresher". It does not stink and I am good about cleaning out cages. I am just trying to make a little bit better.

Also, I am thinking about hooking up an exhaust fan to help circulate the air better. Has anybody else done that and does it help?

Which is better newspaper or another type of bedding?

Any Advice will be greatly appreciated,
Thanks
Brett

If you eliminate bacteria you will not have odors. I know that is easier said than done with a large collection. Years ago I used aspen but now it is all newspaper. For me newspaper is a lot easier to keep the cage clean. As soon as there is any need for cage cleaning I remove the soiled paper, wipe the cage floor with virosan, put in new paper and fresh water and it is done. Sort of the "sterile" approach. Bill
