Saw one at the Ahaheim show that really blew me away but I suspect it was WC. Would love to know more about them.

...guess they look like this

Of course you can't here the wind bag but she's a noise maker. I'm sure she'll calm down nicely though...first old world snake in my collection.
She's purdy!! Never owned one but, hope to some day.Jeff
Wow!, and a VERY nice lookin' one at that!
That one blows many away that I have seen!. Now all you have to do is give it some time to get acclimated, and a nice place to hide, then put a meal in front of the hole in the hide, and see if it will pounce on it!
good luck with that beauty!

I did my homework since and surpised to learn they are rear-fanged and have duvernoys glands. She was very huffy out of the box but no strikes and reasonably calm in hand.
Yep, she has nice accomdations and will be chilling there for a few days...has had a busy week what with Anaheim and shipping to here and all. Probably pretty stressed out.
I was assured by LLL that she is CB and she is pristine so that would support it.
Now I'm starting to get an "old world" jones...help me!
Don't do it....
Don't go to the dark side.....
Stick with NA

Seriously
One of the nicest and unique I've seen.

...maybe not dark, but there is something about it that's wierd to me. I think it's that as boy I got familiar with the natural history, range and relationships of NA colubrids (almost all by reading) so that I understood a context for each species. I don't have that for the old world. As with this Diadem, I was told it came from Egyptian stock but I really don't have context for it in terms of what other species it is most closely allied so it just kind of "floating in space"...hope that makes sense. I guess my challenge now is to learn more about the "dark side" and what all lurks there
I think I saw that one at the show. Amazing animal she was and a great pick up.

Wish I had met you at the show. The rat is a very interesting snake. Serious 'tude, so far anyway. She does have what is apparently a stuck eye caps issue (see post above) that I'll need to fix. She's is not going to enjoy that cause she seems to hate my face
btw, My '08 male northern from you is coming along nicely. He's in shed now but I'll take pics soon and send to you.
Cheers,
Brad
Cool, can't wait to see the pics!
I'm planning on a booth at the Pasadena show, should have the mother of your pine on display as well.
