CRYSTALS just Shed!!!!

clintkb Sep 08, 2009 07:18 PM

These Crystals (and SuperMojaves)just shed. I was surprised they are so pink and yellow. I dont know what effect the "highlighter" gene may play with these as my male Crystal throws them but i like it!
For those who havent followed this project, there has been a debate for the last 2 years about the genetics of the project. Thanks to Randy Remington for his explanation of the likely genetics. Randy was correct in believing the Crystal or "special" as Tom Baker calls them was on the same allele as the mojave/lesser/mocha/lemon, etc. (BEL) I didnt produce any Crystals last year but following Randy's thoughts I bred my Crystal male to Mojave females this year and got Crystals.

When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car.

I hadnt expected them to look so pink!!! Its amazing how fantastic the 3 yr old male Crystal that i got from you Looks! It seems alot of Breeders dont show off adult morphs because they have browned out or lost their coloration but with the Crystal i think they get better with age. Thanks for letting me in on such a rewarding project.
Im gonna get an updated pict of this male SuperSpecial Pinstripe i produced. He was white with Orange but now it seems all the white is turning a pale orange,Very weird and kinda cool too.

Clint what your describing is how my Super Special has changed as well. So my question to you then is... how did you make a Super Special that fast..? Did you get a Pin Special female from Bruce or something, you have me lost there, lol... Is it easy to see the Pin in there or not?? Either way sounds cool !!

but am not at liberty to say. Female in question that Clint bred did not come from Bruce. It is one of those "odd" breeding stories you here about from time to time...
