Egg Hatching Issue?

ARIES54 Sep 09, 2009 06:26 AM

Hey guys. Both of my clutches (by estimated time) should be hatching as of today. If I do not see anything happening, should I try opening a couple of the eggs? When I was breeding burms and balls, I'd do this often in order to help along the baby. I'm not sure if I can do this with these tiny bearded eggs (this is my first time breeding beardeds). Any help here would be appreciated. Thanks!

Just keep waiting. They'll hatch when they're ready. It's unlikely the dragon will survive if you open it's egg. If they still look good I'm sure they're fine. There is a wide range in incubation times depending on conditions.

What temp. are you incubating at? How long has it been? Are the eggs white and full?

Some of the eggs have kinda "curled over". But they are still good color. Others are still round and white, but have "dimples" on them. I've been keeping the temp around 84-85 degrees and the humidity around 90%

Do you have pics? The "curled" ones sound dried up...probably goners but give them a chance as long as they aren't moldy. You may need to ad water...just DON'T get eggs wet.If you can cover the eggs with paper towels and spray direct stream down the sides of the container all the way around it may help.

Just thought I'd mention...when I first started breeding over 14 years ago,I had some real surprises..my very first clutch didn't hatch for 80 days!! They all hatched and were fine..I also many years ago had a clutch hatch after only 48 days. Again, they were fine acted normally. These were extremes but just to reassure you that if the eggs are looking healthy, they will usually hatch.

If they don't smell and are not fuzzy, leave them alone.
