A call for Deppei pics

mylicon Sep 09, 2009 10:45 AM

These guys are an extremely fascinating species and there are not enough photos on the internet to document their many phenotypes. I was wondering if those who kept this species and had some time on their hands would grace us by posting some pics of the very beautiful durango mountain pine.

Thanks,
Mylicon

I know the feeling...for some reason these guys never make the headlines, not sure why. I've posted these before so please forgive but maybe we can get a nice thread going...

What a beauty, that's an impressive animal and quite a growth rate for him. Where did you get him from? Thanks for sharing Monklet!!!

...both from Vivid. Apparently the male is extremely atypical. Not really the most clean/colorful, but a great, consistent feeder that may have some sort of "monster gene". Hard to tell in the pics but he is thick and heavy like a boa. Wonder just how big he'll go???

These are much larger now, not as big as the male in the other post. That's a monster. I thought my male was growing fast. These are 08's. Female in first pic. Male in second.

...any more recent pics?

I'll try and get some up soon. The male is about three feet long and his ground color is turning a bit white anteriorly(which is common). The female is a little smaller, but she is getting brighter yellow with each shed. The adults which produced them are very bright yellow with blackish/purple blotches. Pics of them can be seen on James Van der beeks website.
