A dream came true....

Joel_Thomas Sep 10, 2009 10:45 AM

I remember the day when I first saw these amazing boas, I dreamed of owning one for quite some time...today my dream came true!!!

Much better than my expectations, some of you know what it is like to hold something in your hand that is like nothing you have ever seen and captivates your complete attention...I am totally smitten.

I can not thank Gus Rentfro at riobravo reptiles enough for producing not only this gorgeous girl but several other Peruvian boas that I have.

Wow! That's is a killer Peruvian! It's not going to be one of those butter yellow ones, but that's not the point right, being "hyperpigmented" which have something with more pigment. It has several characteristics in common with some Jungles. I have heard the term "hyperpigmented" many times but what is that or what does that mean anyhow? In all my travels on the net I have not read what it is. I don't think it means that it just gets darker as many Peruvians get much darker as they age. I'm wondering as I keep hearing that term but have never read an explanation of it. I love the aberrancies on that Peruvian. Most of the time aberrancies on Peruvians ruin what I like best in the nicest Peruvians. That really uniform thoughtful pattern. This one and a few others that I have seen are quite striking and really capture my attention and admiration.

I could not even pretend to explain what Hyperpigmented is concerning these Peruvians, other than it to mean that some of the animals from this litter have an unusual amount of pigment and color that is very different from their siblings and they have those "black eyes" seen in some of the morph boas out there, perhaps Gus could share his thoughts

Congratulations Joel ,I love these super colorful (hyper pigmented) Peruvian Boas.
I've been hoping to see somebody breed some older ones.
I'd like to see how it works out.
If it truly is a recessive trait or not.
That's great pick up Joel !

All credit goes to riobravo reptiles, I imagine that it is a simple recessive trait and yes it will be interesting to see them produced.

Simply lovely! Congrats on aquiring such a nice one too, I'm looking forward to seeing this one grow up! It's always such a great feeling to finally aquire something that was previously out of reach (either due to availability or price). I know exactly how you feel and it's a good place to be.
Take care,
