Bought this pair a few weeks ago. The male is a lavender stripe het hypo, he has very reduced stiping and the with the stripe gene having a slight hypo effect of it's own I believe this snake will be a near solid purplish snake as an adult.
The female is a hypo lavender het stipe.
The long term goal is to breed hypo lavender to the butter stipe and produce penta hets and then breed thos back. If my calculations are correct that would create 1024 genotype possibilities and 32 phenotypes....crazy talk I know, shrug.

Geesh!,...is that all those things are capable of producing?, I was under the impression there would be a few genetic combinations involved..LOL!

Doug it is nice that we have those programs, but it's kinda fun to write it out on paper too. I did a punnet on paper to predict my 64 possibilties and ratios for my triple hets offspring but no way was I going to do it for penta hets, I would have to use a wall, and at some point it would just get ungly, lol

Cool thanks Tim. My butter stripe is a female, so will likely breed her to the lavender stripe het hypo male first year, and also breed him to the female hypo het stripe female as well and then if I produce a male hypo lavender stripe or hypo lavender from that second breeding, I will then breed that snake next to the butter stripe. Probably the better breeding in the long run would be to breed a male hypo lavender stripe to the butter stripe because at least that way all would be visual stripes would would have more marketablility than producing all those visual normals multi pos hets. Either way at some point it will be difficult to say exactly what the genotype is with some of those animals due to the hypo being masked by the amel, probably would be a better project in some ways if I used a different gene than the hypo but I love the look of the hypo lavender, of course I like the lavender stripe even better. It will be like you said Christmas when they start hatching either way.

Jeff, you fair well know yourself, that things can stretch quite far on multi het mongols.. *lol* You got your buter stripes this year, and that seemed to take for ever, these new ones are going to drive right up the wall..

Occasionally, I whoomp on the odds..

Thanks Justin, I know you have a similar project as well except with the motley in the mix, which is what got me motivated to looking into the lavenders in the first place, so thanks for that, but I love the stripes, probably a carry over from my love of the garters, same reason I love the tessera so much, too bad it's out of my reach price wise for now. So anyways best of luck with yours too.

I have a very similair project wandering around here too.. Motley instead of stripe as well.. They should have been ready for next year, but I don;t think I am going to get the chance.. *pouties*
