Gravid Brazilian Rainbow Boas

Jeff Clark Sep 11, 2009 12:32 AM

These are some of the gravid Brazilian Rainbows that I am waiting on.

First photo is Caat99F1 and Returna. Caat99F1 is the larger lighter colored snake. Returna came to me in a trade and is probably one of my babies that was sold in a local shop.

Next photo is Fiona. She has produced lots of really pretty babies.

Third photo is Flo. This will be her second litter.

Fourth photo is Caat99F4. She has produced a couple litters in the last 5 years.

Fifth and final photo is Borba. She has produced LOTS of babies in the past. This year she is not as big as she has been before. I did hear fetal heart tones using the Doppler last month but could not find them thursday.

Love the gravid girl look!

Are you keeping the first two together in one cage?

What is a doppler and where do I get one? I am having issues with my gravid females this year (mainly because of weird cold weather that is making my cage temps go wacky) and I want to check on the babies.

Doppler is the principle they work on. Commonly sold as a fetal heart monitor for pregnant women. I have a Sonotrax.
