Repti-Racks Cages

Anyone have any experience with these cages? I was thinking about getting a few of his 26" cube cages. I mainly keep arboreal vipers.

Hi Derek,

I just bought a pair of 35x23x18's w/ single drop-doors with keyed locks, RHPs and fluorescent lights. I'm totally satisfied based on these criteria:
1) customer interaction
2) materials
3) build quality
4) design
5) "value" (cost in relation to the former criteria)

Packing was a bit weak but the minor resulting damage to 1 box was 100% mitigated very quickly (#1 criterion rates a 10+, very responsive and solicitous!).

For what it's worth (not much to me but one never knows) the turnaround time was quick, about 2.5 weeks.

I'm convinced these cages will serve me well for a LONG time. I think you'd share my assessment if you go this route. These don't feel cheap or flimsy, but super-strong and resilient yet still light. We've come so far so fast...

cheers,
Jimi

Thanks for the feedback. Is there a gap around the plexi door? How are the vents? Do you think newborn arboreal vipers could escape through either?

Hi Derek,

Sorry for laggard reply, I don't check these sites that much any more.

The door aperture has a flange all the way around it, and the cage hull has 4 little flip-clip things near each door corner to keep the door snug up against the flange. Plus I have the keyed lock. No way anything's getting out through the door, unless the door's simply not shut.

I ordered 2 vents, 1 on either end, centered, about 2/3 of the way up. They're ~3" circular jobs, with pretty heavy plastic screen (maybe 1mm apertures?) over the hole and also the usual slanted vanes over the screened hole. Not even a neonate venustus could get out. (And a big girl borneensis couldn't bully her way out either.)

If you're still worried about it, you could either just order 1 small cage and see what you get, and/or get on the phone with the guy. He's very busy but also very responsive.

I reiterate my satisfaction. I used to keep what you're keeping (I hate having to say "used to"...). The cages will work great for you.

Cheers,
Jimi

Jimi, Thats good information. Thats exactly what I wanted to hear. If a baby venustus could not get out nothing that I have will. Thanks
