breeding/genetics for striped creamsicle

rhed Sep 13, 2009 12:42 AM

I have a female creamsicle (a low grade okeetee or possibly a common creamsicle). Would breeding to a amelanistic striped male be the best way to produce striped creamsicles (with additional breeding through hets?)

Best way would be to a stripe creamsicle.
If you bred to a stripe creamsicle you would get creams het stripe.
breed those together and you would have about a 25% chance of getting stripe creams
You could do the same thing with a stripe amel but the more corn you add the more like corns they will look. Might as well breed stripe amels.
now, if you bred the cream to a cream het stripe you would only get creams with about a 50% chance of being het stripe.
This would make it very very difficult to get lucky and pick the ones that are het stripe and breeding them together.
