That's pretty crazy. One thing's for sure, if that snake (those snakes?) did hatch, it wouldn't have lasted long outside the egg.

No, certainly not in THAT shape(incomplete brain case)..LOL!and with the weird twisted up spinal kinks, etc... But other fully formed dicephalic(two-headed)snakes have gone to live on perfectly. But of course this depends on many other factors though.
It actually moved around and pushed up out of the egg a little after I cut a "window" for it, it made some breathing bubbles as normal and the whole bit, but when it was the second day after the egg was cut, and still in the very same position, I then pulled it out after noticing it didn't flinch at all after a gentle prodding, then shocked to see it was actually totally deformed and dead as a door-nail.
It came as quite a disappointing surprise to say the least!

.........maybe anencephalic(all, or partially incomplete brain) would be a better term in this particular case too than bicephalic.

Umm, congratulations?
Had that thing hatched and lived you may have been faced with a choice between keeping it, feeding it to another snake, or selling it for more money than you probably expected out of your projects combined this year...
Very cool, despite the fact that it's dead.
Yes,...to all the above!..hahaha!

Dude that is insane lol. Would have been cool if it would have made it. Sorry for your loss
Boy!,...yes, I certainly agree with you there. I'm quite sure it would have been the only two-headed albino Honduran milk in existence today.
I would have done anything and everything humanly possible to keep it thriving for as long as possible had it hatched healthy from the start. I have another breeder friend that hatched one almost identical to mine, only it was a hypomelanistic Honduran instead of an albino(amelanistic)form. His did not make it either, and it was very screwed up just as mine was, so he humanely euthanized the animal soon after pipping the egg.
Also, yet another guy I know of hatched out a perfect looking two-headed Sinaloan Milksnake just last year.
Freakishly interesting to say the least..LOL! I'll have to make a point of looking into if that Sinaloan is still alive today though. One must consider that some feeding issues can easily arise with other obvious problems as well. Some people are also much better than others when it comes to the many tricks and techniques when it comes to feeding problem hatchlings too.
Here are some "extreme" hypo's, and very light hypos I just produced that are some of the nicest, lightest ones in existence. These will also be glowing like neon pumpkins after they shed for the first time. Their ruby-red eyes that many in this clutch have are incredible as well.
best regards, ~Doug

just one of the very lightest ones regarding what would "normally" be a jet-black head, rings and eyes.

I'm actually amazed that it made it as far along as it did.
You're not using Lake Apopka water for your snakes, are you?
Interesting. Thanks for sharing, Doug.

LOL!,......It doesn't sound like you have much confidence in the water quality there...that is funny as all heck!..LOL!
Yeah, I know, it is absolutely mind-boggling that the snake was able to be somewhat viable up to the point of movement at ALL!
I was hoping for some surprises this year, but wasn't quite prepared for this one at all.....zowie!..LOL!
take care, ~Doug
