Prodigy Boa at 28 months:

boaphile Sep 13, 2009 05:03 PM

Well it seems like yesterday that they were born down Texas way, but it was 28 months ago now.

Clay English sprung these on me one day when he called me and said, "I think I have some kind of new Hypo or something!"

That was the day the Prodigy Boas were born. Using a female that he had obtained from me back in 2000, he bred a completely unrelated male that came from a dealer in California as a beautiful light Pastel Colombian. The look of neither of these Boas could prepare Clay for what was to befall him.

Anyhow, so far the only products of these animals are the babies from that litter born in 2007. Much courtship occurred with the males that Clay retained, while the two boys that I was very fortunate to acquire last year showed no interest whatsoever in anything other than feeding time. We are both hoping that this year it will be different.

I just took a bunch of pictures of the biggest male I own and thought I would show him off. The color is close but it lacks that little extra "glow" you always have when you are looking at animals in the flesh. A great day for pictures.

And a couple head shots near the tail:

Just a bit of the tail.

You can see the rings around the tail blotches are a very dark reddish brown. I really need to upgrade the camera so I can get clearer shots, but you get the idea.

I was really hoping that head pattern would show up. Those two rows of faint markings going toward the nose are really cool. But unfortunately, not one of the pictures I took turned out really sharp. I took about 20 of them. All just a tad blurry. I need a new camera. Bad!

That Prodigy Boa is looking wonderful Jeff !!

>>>You can see the rings around the tail blotches are a very dark reddish brown.

That tail blotch ring color looks to have that purplish hue to me,
a sure sign of something special !!

I hope some special babies are made soon.

You would think with all that Boaphile cash you'd be able to upgrade the camera. I say on the next $3k hypo sale you indulge yourself!!

Would you consider that another T-Positive line? Looks like some degree of amelanism. My understanding T-Pos has many degrees of expression. I guess it will be a while to prove it out.
Very nice.
