My friend Daryl Camby and I were riding some dirt roads looking for snakes this evening and placing some sheets of tin in Northern Pine habitat. We saw this small copperhead, but while placing some tin in the woods Daryl came across a solitary watermelon vine growing in the woods. There were two melons ripe for the picking! Don't have any idea how the vine got there, but we will enjoy the melons!

LOL- funny story. I've came across alot of strange stuff while out herping but no clandestine solitary watermelon patches! lol. It'd be awesome to find a Northern Pine one day!

Yep. I took the photo of the melon on the kitchen table which, by the way, belongs to that cat. LOL

Well, like the post said, we were placing some tin for later hunting when I found those two "watermellons". Jim elected to eat his but I have mine set up in vermiculite and moss to be sure it doesn't hatch. I am not sure when it was laid, maybe it will hatch soon, the wait is killing me!
