I have 2 african dwarf frogs in a 2 gallon tank along with an algae eater (not sure what the real name for it is, nor can i find it on the internet, it sucks itself to the aquarium walls and the plants all the time tho!) My 2 adf's were happy until recently one of them started getting really pale and skinny! I started to wonder if he wasnt eating, so i bought some freeze dried bloodworms today, however people say that their frogs will eat right out of their hands, well mine dont seem to eat at all! doesnt anybody know what the problem might be? I also bought a filter for the tank today and i change the water frequently so i dont believe its because the water is too dirty, somebody help me out!!

Also today i found my adf floating upside down at the bottom of the tank, i freaked cuz i thought he died so i tapped the glass and he got up, does anybody elses frogs do this?

Well that is definitely not normal behavior. Try feeding FROZEN blood worms, or a live food such as chopped earth worms or tubifex worms. Most ADFs will only eat freeze dried or flake food if they are starving and nothing else is being offered. Does your "sucker fish" look like the one in this picture below? If it does it is a plecostomus which grow to a foot long. They also produce a lot of waste. If it is a plecostomus you should find it a new home ASAP. 2 gal for 2 frogs is a minimum, so with the fish your tank is over stocked.

yup thats the fish... they seem to be okay with eachother... i guess ill have to find somebody to take him for me then! hes really quite small tho, not as big as you described them to be, i did see the really big ones at the store, but this guy is only about 2-3 inches long.

it WILL grow tho, as mentioned in another post some plecos get really BIG. even the smaller species would get to large for that tank i think

My ADF frogs (dead now) ate frozen blood worms i didn't think mine would take freeze dired. I think that the algae eater may be part of the problem, when i had one in my tank it kept attacking my newt trying to suck off his tasty slime. Try getting a couple of big snails to clean the tank rather then the algae eater. Good luck hope i helped a little bit.
