Interesting note on baby Saw Scale Vipers

Venom17 Sep 16, 2003 07:58 PM

I've seen quite a few posts on here about the challenge to get baby saw scales to feed. I know Larry had big challenge on his hands with the babies at the place he is at. I think I also remember Frank saying he had some. I got mine from a buddy of mine who produced them right before the Daytona show. Some were then sold to a local dealer. I have 4 babies and they all ate 2-3 anoles appiece and they have all now switched to day old pinks. Heck mine are taking them off forceps! How are your ones doing guys?

As previously stated my n/b ate 2 lizards and then refused food for three weeks. I offered a cricket and it took it. Then it refused crickets so I offered lizards (1 anole 1 gecko) and it ate both...That was two days ago. Frank

We picked up a pair of babies from Mardi Snipes a few weeks ago. (Echis carinata) They are eating day old pinks and doing excecllent as well. Its just so hard to imagine these little guys even coming close to swallowing a pink huh? I didnt ask Mardi what they were started out on though. I just bought them cuz they were already on pinks.

Cheers!

Most of the ones I was caring for have since been traded away, but the two I claimed for myself are still doing well on crickets, eating one or two each twice a week. It's only been 2 weeks since they first ate for me, so I'm not going to change anything and risk puting them off feed for at least a few more weeks.
